These High Heels Are Actually Good for Your Feet!

It's the shoe-pacabra: luxury heels that feel good, too! What happens when a stiletto-loving podiatrist decides to create a high-end shoe line? You get high-heels that actually won’t be torture on your feet, that’s what!

Dr. Marion Parke gave up her podiatry practice in the mid-west and, in 2014, began working on her eponymous brand—a luxury shoe line that takes comfort and the design of your foot into consideration from the very moment crafting begins.

After travelling to Italy to work with one of the best shoe factories around—the one that makes Jimmy Choos, in case that means something to you—and then began developing her prototype. She limited heel height to just over 3 inches, and developed a patented insole that uses medical-grade materials, similar to human soft tissue, that can mold to the shape of the wearer’s foot over time.

The result is not cheap. Prices for a pair range from $595 to $875, but the line is catching on; in fact, Parke will launch her ecommerce site this year! I’m all for the idea. I mean, if you’re going to wear spend a fortune on high heels, you should at least feel good when you wear them. It all goes back to what Parke herself admits to be her motivation: “I had this moment where I was standing in front of my shoes in my closet. They're all really beautiful but they were hurting me so much. I thought I could take what I know and put that into a shoe, but in a really tasteful and elevated way on the luxury level.”
