As we weather the after effects of the storm here in Houston (where I'm a practicing podiatrist), I know we're all hoping to see signs of normal life returning, especially some of the bird life our city enjoys.

To make time with your little one extra-special, you may want to try making the delicious snack that follows craft directions and share it together.
Footprint Robin
Supplies
- White Paper
- Brown, black and red paint
- Paintbrush
- Styrofoam plate
- Your child’s cute foot!
Instructions
- Coat a plate with brown paint and have your child step into it. Quickly have your child place the covered foot on paper. The footprint will serve as the robin’s body and head, with the toes as wings.
- Take the red paint and have your child add on a belly, beak and legs. Use the black paint to make an eye.
- Let paint dry and then enjoy your picture

Chocolate Bird Nests
Ingredients
- Chow Mein Noodles
- Candy Eggs or Jelly Beans
- Chow Mein Noodles
- Baker’s Chocolate
Directions
- Melt the Baker’s chocolate in a pot and stir in chow mein noodles until coated. Once they have cooled, mold them into nests and place in on parchment paper lined tray in fridge to set.
- Once cool, top with candy eggs or jelly beans, serve and enjoy!
