Last night was the annual Met Gala, an event which brings out some of the biggest fashion influencers in the country, rocking their craziest outfits and heels, to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

This year’s theme, Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, inspired many celebrities to depart from their usual style. Kylie Jenner, making her first appearance at the event, was no exception: she sported a see through Balmain dress made, basically, of chains and some crazy-high (though barely visible) stilettos.

Later in the evening, Kylie took to Snapchat, sharing a shot of her scratched up legs and shockingly discolored feet. She captioned the image: “When ur dress made you bleed and ur feet are purple.”

Apparently, the material on her dress cut into her skin; the pressure from wearing her tight high heels caused them to badly bruise after wearing them for just a few hours.

After seeing the damage, I was reminded (yet again) of how bad wearing stilettos is for your feet, even if you limit your wearings to special events. Any time you’re tempted to rock those four-inch heels for a night on the town, I beg you to think WWKD (what would Kylie do?) and make the exact opposite decision. Those bruises are just awful. I promise you, no shoes are worth it!
