Although Johnson is now on the injured reserve list and not expected to make a recovery until the off-season, it is reassuring to hear that he’s going to get back on his feet.
The fracture was not Johnson’s first serious foot injury—that foot had already been operated on after Johnson sustained a Jones fracture (break of the fifth metatarsal bone) during his rookie year.
With the latest procedure now behind him, we can expect Johnson to be back (and hopefully better than ever) for the 2017-18 season. If you are facing a sports injury and, like Johnson, have been told you require surgical intervention, be sure to schedule a second opinion consultation with Dr. Andrew Schneider. You should never go under the knife before making certain you've covered all your options.
