Megadeth Ends Tour Due to Foot Fracture

Megadeth base player David Ellefson's broken foot has caused the band to end their European tourFirst it was Axl Rose, now it’s Megadeth bass player David Ellefson…Rock fans suffered another broken-foot blow this week when Ellefson sustained a foot fracture while walking around backstage at the Rockmaraton festival in Hungary.

Immediately after the incident, an ambulance was called and Ellefson was rushed to hospital. Megadeth  frontman Dave Mustaine went on stage to cancel the show, telling fans: "I've got some bad news I have to tell you. David Ellefson has fallen and has injured himself. He had to go to the hospital and he's unable to play. So we're gonna try and figure out when we can reschedule and come back for you guys. It's with really heavy hearts that we have to do this, but he can't play; he's unable to do this. Hold on to your tickets. We're gonna be back and we're gonna make it up to you guys. You guys know David Ellefson. He would do it if he can. We love you very, very much."

In the wake of the fracture, Megadeth cancelled the remaining two concerts on their European tour. As of yet, the schedule for their South American tour (kicking off July 30 in Quito, Ecuador) has not been affected.
