The short answer....NO!!!
The United States Supreme Court ruled today that the majority of President Obama's healthcare policy, commonly referred to as Obamacare, is constitutional. I have respect for our government process and am not close to an expert in Constitutional law, so I will not pretend to be proficient in the various arguments, that occurred in Washington, DC.
This is not a political website. It doesn't matter which side of the aisle you fall. Everyone WILL be affected by the Obamacare legislation. Some elements of Obamacare will be helpful to some. For instance, the ability to keep children on the parents' healthcare policy until age 26 will help many. Additionally, access to healthcare will be provided regardless of preexisting conditions.
This is all well and good, but someone has to pay for it. While some measures have been put in place to control insurance premiums, it has to be paid for somehow. The reason the Supreme Court ultimately approved the measure is because it is essentially a new tax being created.
In the coming days and weeks, and especially during the presidential campaign, you will hear much about why Obamacare is good and terrible for the country. One thing you can be sure about is that this does not impact the care you will receive at Tanglewood Foot Specialists.
