When Dolphins Are Dangerous for Your Feet

The Frickmans, a couple taking a boat out to seaThe poor dolphin in question. Fortunately, it survived relatively unscathed for their 18th wedding anniversary, got a nasty surprise when they pulled up close to a group of jumping dolphins…and the dolphin landed on board their vessel!

According to reports, the dolphin in question was trying to do a flip, but misjudged the distance and landed on the ship deck, all 350 of him! Unfortunately, the mammal landed on Mrs. Frickman, breaking her ankle and causing himself some injury as well.

Fortunately, Mrs. Frickman was taken to the hospital and the dolphin was safely returned to open water, scratched and bruised but essentially unharmed.

If there is a moral to this story, and I’m not sure there truly is one, I guess it would have to be: wild animals are really wild, even if they remind you of Flipper. Maintain a safe viewing distance and, if you sustain a foot or ankle injury while interacting with marine life, schedule an immediate appointment with Dr. Andrew Schneider.
