Back when Tom Cruise broke his ankle while doing a tricky stunt on the set of Mission:Impossible – Fallout it seemed...impossible…that he’d be able to return to set in time to keep the release date on track.
The actor recently told People magazine: “Six weeks later I had to be on set and twelve weeks later I had to be sprinting again. Doctors said they weren’t sure whether I’d be sprinting in nine months, let alone that time. I was like, ‘Okay, I gotta figure this out and I gotta figure it out fast. ”
So, while I’m not sure this plan of action gets the podiatrist stamp of approval, you’ve got to admire his dedication to both his health and his craft. Apparently, in order to make the amped up time table, Cruise, “Went right into rehab. About 10 hours a day, 12 hours, seven days a week.”
Thankfully, he seems to have made a full recovery and is back in action-ready form—as is Mission: Impossible, which is still set to hit theaters July 27. Way to go, Mr. Cruise!
