Doctors appointments are typically something that we put off as much as we can. I get that. I usually wait until I absolutely need to go myself. The thing is, after the visit, I kick myself for not going sooner. After all, the fix to my problem is usually easier and better than all of the possibilities that rattle around in my head.

I’ve found that my patients are no different. They talk to friends, search Google, and just think about what kind of horrible surgery are they looking at. One of my superpowers is giving my patients piece of mind. Take a look at these reasons to schedule a visit and see where you fit in:

  1. “My Feet Are Killing Me!”

It’s as simple as this: Your feet should NOT be in pain! No if’s, ands, or buts about it. If your feet hurt you, and it’s been more than 3 days in a row, schedule an appointment to come into the office. Seriously, the sooner you come in and address the problem, the quicker your pain will go away.

  1. Bunions, Hammertoes, Bone Spurs, Oh My!
You may notice that your feet are starting to look like your mother’s or grandmother’s feet. I’m guessing that is not what you were hoping for. Here’s the good news…they’re just STARTING to look that way. It’s not a foregone conclusion that they’ll end up the same way. The best way to avoid being Grandma’s foot twin is to come in for a visit. There are many things we can do to stop your feet from shifting around…all without surgery!
  1. Sandals, Shmandles….Not With My Toenails Looking Like That!

In Houston, sandal season lasts AT LEAST 9 months of the year. There’s nothing worse than putting your cute sandals onto your not-so-cute feet because of thickened and discolored toenails. Whether your nails have changed because of a fungal infection or trauma to the nail itself, we are able to work to restore the health and beauty of the toenails. Don’t procrastinate too much, though, treatments for toenails take a while to see the benefits and summer is coming!

  1. I’m Giving It All I Got Captain, But I Can’t Run Any Farther!

They call it “The Wall.” It’s the point in a marathon that fatigue takes over and your inner resolve is all that’s left to push you through to the end. Nothing is more frustrating than if you’re hitting the wall too early because of foot pain. Whatever your fitness goals are, they should not be limited by what your feet are allowing you to do. We want to be your partner to make sure you achieve every one of your goals and even push further. All without the nagging foot pain holding you back.

  1. It’s Time To Retire From Bathroom Surgery

You may have had ingrown toenails since you were a kid. Your mom blamed you for not cutting them right, so you took matters into your own hands and REALLY trimmed them…sometimes until they bled. But it made the pain go away for a couple of weeks, so you felt like you won. But then they started to hurt again and back into your bathroom operating room you went. It’s time to stop the madness! It’s not your fault…that’s just how your toenails grow. There is a simple fix to prevent your ingrown toenails from coming back. Ever again! But you need to come in for us to discuss it.

  1. Waking Up Is Hard (And Painful) To Do

If you dread stepping out of bed in the morning, knowing that there is sharp foot pain waiting to attack you, you are not alone. There are many foot conditions come with pain when you step out of bed. The pain can be on the bottom of your heel, your arch, your Achilles tendon, and even close to the toes. Why does it happen? It’s because there is some kind of inflammation that is causing it. Not to worry…we’ll get to the bottom of it together.

  1. Dr. Scholl Is NOT My Doctor!

Sometimes the feet need a little extra something to give them support. I’ve had patients come in with bags full of insoles that don’t work…anywhere from cheap Dr. Scholl’s insoles all the way to off-the-shelf insoles that cost over $1000! Sometimes an over-the-counter insole is the right way to go. Sometimes you might need me to make a custom orthotic for you. Either way, rather than playing the “trial and error” game, let’s talk and come up with a strategy together. That’s what I’m here for!

Can you relate to any of these? I’m sure one or two of them seem familiar. The moral of the story is simple. It’s always better to schedule an appointment sooner than later. If you wait, things will only get worse. Let’s get started on the road to a life without foot pain or problems. We’re waiting for your call or you can easily request an appointment online.
