If you've never been to the podiatrist before, it's a completely new and unique experience. I had a chance to talk to my team and they told me some of the more common questions they get asked by new patients in the office. Hi, I'm Houston podiatrist Dr. Andrew Schneider and when you go to the eye doctor, they look in your eyes. When you go to the ear doctor, they look in your ears. When you come to the podiatrist, we're going to look at your feet. A common question that my team gets asked is, "Do I have to, or why do I have to, take my shoes off?"
Well, we need to know what's going on in order to be able to treat you properly. And although I'm sure you can describe it really well for us, there's no better way to get an idea of what you're experiencing with your feet than to actually take a look at your feet. There I'll be able to see if there are any concerns like bunions or hammer toes, I'll be able to feel around and notice if there's any particular points of pain or pressure. I'd be able to notice to see if there are any calluses or warts on your feet, or any fungus in your toenails. I may even have you walk when you're barefoot so I can see how your feet function when you walk.
Coming to the podiatrist may be a little daunting. Some people are insecure about how their feet look, but just know that after 20 years, I've seen it all. I know that we're going to make you feel as comfortable as possible as we always do for all of our patients. We're looking forward to seeing you in the office should you need us. If you have any questions, please give us a call at the office, or you can visit our website at www.tanglewoodfootspecialists.com. Thanks so much for watching and have a great day.
